India has 13.7 million slum households, spanning 63% of its towns, with eight million children under 6 and 22.72 million aged 5-18 residing in urban slums. Slum children face educational, health, and safety challenges, often resorting to labor due to lack of opportunities. Access to basic necessities like clean water and meals remains a struggle, hindering their overall development.
